Thursday 15 Dec late afternoon that beautiful sound of a few bikes coming down the road and turning into the grounds at Thee Waters Dam.

Dawie doing the spit is already there preparing the sheep for tomorrow. Once all the preparation was done the party started and progressed through the night.

At about 06H00 on the 16th it suddenly dawned on the manne that they have had no sleep and that they have a major task ahead of them, '2 sheep must be ready by 13H00'.

Looking up at the sky you could know that is going to be a great day.

The Bikers were lazing around chatting and kuiering while the sheep were braaing to satisfaction. It is now 13H00 and as promised the meat was done to perfection.

A few more Bikers have now arrived and Uncle Van and Bruce took charge and got everybody together. Uncle Van Thanked all for availing themselves and also Thanked the Exec for a year of hard work and dedication.

Cedrick and Alfred then took centre stage together with Bruce and handed out trophies to the clubs that were present which were well accepted and much appreciated by the members.  The talk afterwards was that it was a great gesture from the Exec side.

Now with that done all the Exec members were given a beautifully framed certificate of appreciation for there loyalty to the MAWC which I feel was a great idea.

Now all speeches and formalities done it was TIME for the next highlight of the day............

Lunch is now served !!!!!!!!

Dawie and myself cut the sheep while the girls prepared the tables and got the Salads out, as well as the cutlery and crockery. While the guys were digging into the first sheep we were cutting up the 2nd one.

A short while later you could only see the remains of the carcasses in the last bit of smoke coming from the braai drum.  Silence broke as the guys were digging into their plates of food. Seconds and even third helpings were at the order of the day.

A while later the Bikers started saying their Good Bye's and slowly left the venue heading home.

Another great day had now come to an end and can be remembered as a successful day in the life of the Bikers.

Now for the not so nice part :

Where was the rest of the Biking Family?

This was to be YOUR day, it was disappointing to see the poor turn-out this year. Yes there were clubs that informed us that they were not going to attend but the rest missed out on a great day and awesome Fellowship.

Just a few Thank You's.

All the Exec members for your participation in organizing the jol, Dawie and his Team for the food (it once again was out of this world).

Cedric and Alfred for your hard work in assisting to the great success of the day. If a name was not mentioned, I apologize.

Now this was the perfect day to end a great year filled with challenges, so enjoy the break as we prepare for the challenge in 2012.

It is great to be part of a great Organization that does great things for great people.

As we go into the Christmas season - Ride Safe, Stay Safe and you will be Safe.

To all a blessed Christmas

3passes

What a awesome rally hosted by D-tox in a picturesque part of the Western Cape.

Friday 18 November the start of the rally a damn hot day and out comes the pool and is placed on the cement slab right in front of the stage adjacent to the bar (the perfect spot).

Bikers were picked up and put into the pool by fellow bikers through out the entire weekend with their entire kit still on there asses. Miss and Mr 3 passes were chosen and a party of note started and shook the grounds.

After evening fell the wind came up and gave a few bikers a bit of a “skrik“ shame !!! A few guys lost a couple of hours of there life but enough of that.

Saturday 19 Nov “wakey wakey rise and shine“ the sun is up and the bar is open. A few bikers were feeling quite “vrot“ but glad to be alive. Little did we know that today was going to be a scorcher , a wild guess round 40 Celsius. Next moment the pool was occupied “klere en al“ and every body mingled and had a great time.

Some time after lunch there was a announcement sounding something like LET THE GAMES BEGIN in that heat but once again the organizers were well prepared as the tug o war was held on either side of the pool where the loosing team landed up in the pool. All the spot prizes were great and the brotherhood was there no real incidents to report. The games lasted for the balance of the afternoon after which everybody kinda disappeared to their tents for a siesta.

After sunset the music fired up again and a stripper was summoned to the stage where she did what she does best.

Now time for prize giving and thanking people for making the rally successful. The charities were called to the stage and presented to with the love that only a biker has. All the prizes were given to the lucky bikers and every biker was happy with his prize.

By now the bikers started scattering and the pleasant smell of braaivleis fires filled the air. Suddenly a voice came from the stage , only to see a biker Jim behind the mic giving the entertainment for the balance of the evening.

Before I forget the casino had its fair share of bikers banking some money but its not all doom and gloom Mies Main and some others were lucky enough to make a few bucks. Just a request Web we would like to know if you are going to donate you winnings to the buddy fund ? LOL

Sunday 20 Nov roughly 03H00 the heavens opened and some well needed rain came down to cool the day and settle the dust. At about 06H00 everybody started packing up and greeting each other before heading home.

This is a sight to remember bikers giving each other a hug and wishing all a safe journey home. We should all be proud to be part of the greater biker family.

Super bike speed record shattered..........Suzuki !! E-mail

Busa

BILL THE FEARLESS: Despite his Hayabusa's baby-blue finish, Bill Warner doesn't lack courage or bike control.

Supercars are fun but superbikes are better - right?

Well, if you're one of those who believe chasing velocity records on two-wheels is the highest form of worship at the altar of speed, you'd be thrilled at what Florida's Bill Warner's managed.

On July 17, 2011, at the decommissioned Loring Air Force base in the state of Maine, Warner beat his personal top-speed superbike run of 447km/h to set the world record for an open cockpit sit-up bike, as opposed to a lay-down rail dragster.

SHAMING BUGATTI'S VEYRON SS

Let the statistical madness of Bill's beaten record settle in your mind: 447km/h is 17km/h faster than the world record for a production car, held by
Bugatti's Veyron
, at 430km/h...

So how fast did Bill manage to go? An absolutely stupefying 502km/h.

Although Bill's Suzuki Hayabusa's fairing is a custom-crafted item, the frame's been left relatively unmodified. The most amazing part of Bill's bike is undoubtedly its engine.

The 1299cc Suzuki four gains an enormous Garrett turbocharger, boosting power to 480kW. So severe is the boost regime and its cooling requirements that the engine can only run for 25 seconds before the turbo disengages and shuts down. For all intents and purposes then, it's
0-500km/h in 25 seconds...

Beyond the jet-fighter challenging acceleration, by far the most perilous part of Bill's record run was slowing down, especially after part of the Hayabusa's intricate fairing sheared off. "It was a little scary," said 42-year-old said in an epic instance of understatement.

ROUTE 66 USA (The Last Ride)

Hi my name is Edward Cochrane I was born in Durban South Africa in 1953 I am 58 years old. In 1969 I fell in LOVE with motorcycles, and in 1982 I met my wife Wilhelmina while working as a manager at a motorcycle shop in Johannesburg, we had the same passion for motorcycles and we were soon married, we had 4 children who have now finished school and left home. To save money my wife has always ridden pillion and we tried to attend at least one motorcycle rally per month in different parts of our country. We have also done motorcycle rides to Namibia, Botswana, and Zimbabwe and on the 24 This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it all our documents are in order. (I will respond to all calls, emails and donations.) Thank you. Donations can be made to our:- th of February 2011 we completed another goal The Iron Butt 1500 Miles in 36 hours Bum Burner on our 2002 Kawasaki ZZR 1200. (Old faithful) Our greatest wish was one day when I retired, to ride Route 66 (The Mother Road) from Chicago to L.A. We have read books, watched documentaries, and got maps on the subject. Now 29 years later we finally have a chance to spend time and do lots of things together. I went for a medical check up because I wanted to change jobs (to earn more money) and was told that I have Crohn’s disease (Colon cancer, there is no known pharmaceutical or surgical cure for Crohn’s disease. Treatment options are restricted to controlling symptoms, maintaining remission and preventing relapse.) And I was also told I have type 2 diabetics. Now before I Die my last wish is to ride Route 66 with my loving wife while I still have the strength to do so as I am already living on medication and insulin injections. I want to leave her with magic memories of our time together, and the passion we both shared for motorcycling, (after I have passed on) and to also repay her, for all the wonderful things she has done for me and our children throughout our life together. I have worked my whole life and never asked for anything. Sadly, financially I cannot achieve this now without help, as our currency in South Africa is ‘'The Rand’’ and I need to earn 7-10 Rand to 1 US Dollar and 10- 15 Rand to 1 UK Pound (Not enough time!) If there is anyone out there that can help us with: Information, Accommodation on Route 66, Air fares, a motorcycle to use in the USA, any riding or camping gear a few spare US Dollars, UK Pounds, Rand or any other equipment we may need to complete this trip we would GREATLY appreciate it.
